Completed by the lender when your car loan or lease is paid off. DMV removes the lien from your title. If your lender doesn't submit this, you can request and submit it yourself.

Required for all out-of-state vehicles, first-time CA registrations, homemade vehicles, and when the VIN plate appears altered. Must be completed by an authorized verifier.

Required when a vehicle is declared a total loss by insurance, or for vehicles that are significantly damaged. Salvage vehicles must pass a brake and light inspection before registration.
